We’re thrilled to announce Lost Barrel Bourbon, a piece of distilling history!
This extraordinary bourbon was originally imported from Kentucky as USA as a four year old into New Zealand in 2001 by South Pacific Distillery, one of the country’s first commercial distilleries and based in Nelson. At the time, our very own founder, Terry Knight, was honing his craft as an apprentice at this pioneering distillery, while also running his meadery in Golden Bay, making the famous bubbles - Le Champs De Miel. After South Pacific Distillery closed its doors, the two barrels were tucked away through years of relocation and change. But like all great things, it found its way back, and just a few months ago, it was bottled, ready to be savoured. When we finally cracked these barrels after 28 long years, and we got our first smell of their intoxicating aroma - we knew it was something special and had to be shared with New Zealand. This exquisite and unique drop incredibly limited, each bottle is hand numbered and Lost Barrel Bourbon will only available online for a very short time.
