Kiwi Spirit Featured by Dear Whisky

Kiwi Spirit Featured by Dear Whisky

We were honoured to be featured by Dear Whisky, a Japanese whisky publication dedicated to sharing stories from distilleries and whisky makers around the world.

The interview explores the story behind Kiwi Spirit Distillery, our philosophy on creating distinctly New Zealand spirits, and the journey of our family-run distillery in Golden Bay. It also looks at the inspiration behind Waitui Whiskey, our use of honey mead casks, and our vision for the future of New Zealand whisky.

Highlights from the interview

"We don't want to simply copy what other companies do. We always ask why it's different, why we're creating it, and what value it brings."

Every spirit we create begins with a simple question: what makes it uniquely Kiwi Spirits? Whether it's a whiskey, gin or liqueur, originality and purpose are at the heart of every product.

"Tradition and innovation" are principles that we always value.

We will continue to honour the vision of our founder, Terry Knight, while embracing new ideas, techniques and opportunities that will carry Kiwi Spirit into the future.

"We respect this land and cherish what comes from this place."

From honey mead casks to the natural beauty of Golden Bay, our surroundings shape the way we think, the way we create, and ultimately the spirits we produce.

We're incredibly grateful to the Dear Whisky team for taking the time to learn about our story and share it with whisky enthusiasts around the world.
